More About Dr. Adam Sagot
Dr. Adam Sagot Received his medical degree from the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine where he stayed for his general residency training in psychiatry. Following residency he pursued a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Fellowship with Drexel University where he served as the chief fellow prior to Hahnemann’s closure at which point he completed the remainder of his child training with Thomas Jefferson University and A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital. During that time, dr. Sagot also completed the three year psychodynamic psychotherapy fellowship with the psychoanalytic center of Philadelphia. Finally, Dr. Sagot completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sagot currently serves as an editorial board member of the journal of the Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry CONNECT and an associate editor for the Journal of Adolescent Psychiatry, member of the Advocacy Committee with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and co-chair of the New Jersey Psychiatric Association Council on Advocacy, and the President of the New Jersey Council of child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Sagot also serves as the President Elect for the American Society of Adolescent Psychiatry.
He holds three board certifications in general, child/adolescent and forensic psychiatry. Dr. Sagot founded the forensic psychiatry fellowship at ocean university medical center and maintains faculty roles with Rowan University School of osteopathic medicine, Rutgers/Robert wood Johnson medical school, and Hackensack Meridian school of medicine.
I have served as an academic training director and associate director of forensic and child/adolescent psychiatry fellowships. I also work as faculty with four psychiatric residencies in NJ State in addition to providing lectures for training programs across the country. Dr. Sagot previously served as chief medical officer at Summit Oaks Hospital in Summit, NJ before transition to a new role as Chief Medical Officer of Preferred Behavioral Health Group, a non-profit community mental health organization in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
